Hi All-
The council met last night as part of their regular meeting to appoint a Mayor Pro Temps to fill the seat vacated by Lisa Simpkins. The council voted to appoint Greg Harrigan to serve as Mayor through the end of calendar year 2019. Congratulations Greg, and thanks for stepping up for this important position.

Greg’s appointment as mayor leaves an open seat on the council. This council position would serve through calendar year 2019. This seat is open to qualified full-time Interlaken residents who can meet these requirements:

To qualify as a candidate for the council, you must:
1. Be a U.S. Citizen at the time of filing.
2. Be a registered voter.
3. Be a resident of Interlaken Town for at least 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of the appointment.

4. In accordance with Utah Constitution Article IV, Section 6, any mentally incompetent person, any person convicted of a felony, or any person convicted of treason or a crime against the elective franchise may not hold office in this state until their right to hold elective office is restored.

Note that this is temporary position. On November 5th this year, the town will vote into office a mayor (2-year term) and council member (4-year term) as described in a previous notice. These newly elected positions begin serving on January 1, 2020.

If you are interested in the open council seat, please submit a letter of interest to the town clerk. The last date to declare your interest is May 31, 2019.

Thanks,
